The Stick-On Guard is a flat, circular plastic shield with an adhesive back designed to protect the raised face of valves
and/or flanges.What are the specific uses of the Stick-on Guard?
There are (4) uses for Stick-On Guard:
1) Protects grooves on raised faces of valves and flanges during sandblasting and painting.
2) Protects grooves on raised faces of valves and flanges during shipping.
3) Protects grooves on raised faces of valves and flanges during storage.
4) Protects insides of valves and flanges from dust and debris.
What is the advantage of Stick-On Guard over traditional duct tape method of protection the raised face of the valve or flange during sandblasting and painting?
With cloth or duct tape as protection, you must first double tape the raised face of your valve or flange, then trim with a sharp blade. After sandblasting, you may have to re-tape, then paint. Finally, you must remove and clean the adhesive that will be stuck to the grooves of the raised faces. The Stick-On Guard is applied by pealing the paper backing, pressing firmly onto a clean, dry surface. After sandblasting and/or painting, you simply peel off and throw away the shield, with no adhesive clean-up required.
What type of surface condition must exist for proper adhesion?
Apply the Stick-On Guard to a clean, dry surface with firm pressure.
What is the ideal temperature for application of the Stick-On Guard?
50°F - 100°F
How long can the Stick-On Guard remain adhered to a surface of a valve or flange?
The Stick-On Guard will stay in place for a prolong period of time in temperatures from 32°F - 120°F and can be removed easily.
What size does the Stick-On Guard cover?
Any size is available.
