MATERIAL DESCRIPTION Ryton® is a brand name for PPS.  Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) offers the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastic.   M&P makes custom machined Ryton® PPS parts to your specifications. Ryton® have no known solvents below 392°F and are inert to steam, strong bases, fuels and acids. Ryton® is ideal for precise tolerance machined components, because it has minimal moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. NOTABLE MATERIAL FEATURES • Minimal moisture absorption • Very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion GRADES OF RYTON RYTON® 40% Glass Reinforced PPS • Ryton®, Glass filled PPS, is the most recognized filled grade of PPS. • Glass filled PPS has better dimensional stability and thermal performance than unfilled Techtron® PPS and maintains its strength to above 425°F. • Ryton® is a trade name of Chevron Phillips Chemical. RYTON® Bearing Grade PPS • Ryton®, Bearing grade PPS, is internally lubricated and is carbon fiber filled, offering a low coefficient of thermal expansion and uncompromised chemical resistance. • Bearing grade Ryton® can be used for thrust or wear applications and when an electrical conductive material is required.
